CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY - Club de Derecho de la Construcción y la Ingeniería - CDCI

MADRID (SPAIN)   Last 28th September 2023 the Third Annual Conference of the Club de Derecho de la Construcción y la Ingeniería - CDCI was held in Madrid, this year focusing on the so-called "EPC Contracts".

The conference opened with a speech by the authoritative and recognised FIDIC expert, Christopher Seppälä, who focused his analysis on the use of the FIDIC standard form of contract (with particular reference to the Silver Book - EPC and Turnkey).

Five different panels, consisting of equally recognised professionals from the construction industry, then followed, discussing the topics below:

• National and International Experience in the Management of EPC Contracts (Table 1);
• Design and Engineering Risks in EPC Contracts (Table 2);
• EPC Contracts in the Energy Sector (mainly renewable energy) (Table 3);
• Owner, SPV and JVC: "a working triangle or is there too many of three?" (Table 4);
• Current Challenges and Trends in EPC Contracting (Table 5).

Engineer Pablo Fanelli, Head of Construction Industry at Valenti Consulting, participated in this important event for the Spanish and international professional community in the field of contracting and, in particular, EPC projects.
